Blessings

This page is a celebration of how good God is and what He has done in our lives.

I would love for you to share how God has touched your life and blessed you, it could be a healing or an encouragement from the bible or any way you have received ‘blessings’

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.                              (1 Thessalonians 5 v 11)

  1. Hi Adrian,

Thought you might appreciate an update after Sunday night when lots of people prayed for Leon. It blew his socks off! He got me to write everything down that everyone had prayed for him as he wanted to remember for the rest of his life what God had said to him.

Then on Monday night he said something like “Mum I’ve had such a good day today, I’ve felt really different, I can’t explain quite what I mean but it feels really cool!” – that’s the Holy Spirit for you 🙂

And today he went to school with his “4 points” wrist band on to help jog his memory about the different parts to the gospel as he said he wants to tell one of his best mates about it as even though he goes to church he doesn’t think he knows Jesus as his mate 🙂

    Cheers
    Sarah

    • That’s so good Sarah, I’m really chuffed. Pray he has great conversations, hears from God and communicates really well and has his socks blown off again!!
For those who don’t know, Leon is Sarah’s son and he’s under ten and was by far the youngest to be prayed for along with other under 25 year old’s at our church prayer meeting Sunday evening. Really encouraging to see.

      • I want to finish my thuoght here. If God treated us fairly Jesus would have never died on the cross. and we would have never been offered salvation. I praise God that He loves me, He never fails me and He goes to plan B and on. Look ho w He blessed Israel, they sinned and went away from God countless times, but He was faithful and loved them any way. Romans 5:8 But God commended His love toward us, in that while we were sinners Christ died for us. Praise be to God!

  2. Jackie, that’s wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing your testimony, I really appreciate it and I pray it will speak to others. God bless. Ade

    • I often believe that I have been such a dmppasointient. But, know that when God sees me he sees Jesus. But, here is what I often think about. If God sees Jesus who died for all of our sins, what does Jesus see when he looks down on earth. I try so very hard to be a good person and when I try really hard, I fail. But, when I run to Jesus to say I am sorry, he holds out his arms takes me into a tight hug and tells me it is okay. Go try again but, let me help you. Each day is better than the day before.

  3. God is so amazing! The hymn Amazing Grace comes to my mind as I think about all the things Jesus has helped me through in my life, both before I was a Christian, and since I became a Christian 6 years ago.

“I once was lost, but now am found, was blind but now I see”.

About 18 years ago, I really felt compelled to read the Gospel of Matthew in the Bible. I had very limited knowledge, mainly learned at school about some of the stories or parables as they are better known, and of course everything to do with the nativity- Jesus’ Birth, and I remember enjoying them.

So I remember reading Matthew, and enjoying the parables and everything, but to me at that time they were stories which had good moral messages but I didn’t feel any different reading them than I did reading The Lord of the Rings.

I was Lost and Blind to God’s word!
6 Years ago I attended a 10 week Alpha Course run by Kings Church, Hastings, and 6 weeks into it, I had just about argued against everything that was said about Christianity on the course. My favourite arguments were along the lines of it’s ok for you but I won’t be brainwashed into this, or I’ll be ok, because i’ve done loads of good things and never anything really bad in my life, like murdering someone.

Week 7, something began to change in me. I started to question my views and began to wonder and think more about this person Jesus.

Week 8 I was driving my son home from the hairdressers listening to a song by the Manic Street Preachers ( A regular Band, not Christian), and one of the songs playing was about living by the Grace of God. I had learned a prayer on the Alpha course – Dear Father I am sorry for all the things I have done in my life, and I now choose to accept Jesus into my life. Amen. I said this prayer meaning it from my heart and immediately felt this overwhelming feeling and began to cry. I had just felt my first experience of the Holy Spirit flooding me with God’s grace and peace.

Week 10 I got baptised in water on Easter Sunday, 16th April 2006.

I am found and now I see.

Since the moment I said that prayer, whenever I read the Bible, the words in it and the parables all have meaning.

Having a relationship with God, meaning I can talk to Him anywhere without having to go first through a church, priest, vicar, etc is the best thing about being a Christian (Christ-like). My whole approach to life and people is so different as I am being changed from the inside outwards, or Born Again, and friends and family who knew me before I became a Christian are a witness to this and how God changes all people who choose to come to him.

Jesus said “I am the way the truth and the life and no-one comes to the father except through me”.
